La Ventana has been recognized as one of the world’s best spots to learn or practice kiteboarding (kitesurfing). The combination of plenty of long beaches, steady side-onshore winds and a big beach that hooks out downwind mean that you can maximize your learning potential while having a big safety factor. They welcome both kiteboarders and windsurfers here and there are instructors in La Ventana who are (one caveat is that most will not provide rental gear unless you are taking a lesson!) all are within a few minutes walk up or down the beach.
