Hiking   There are many hiking trails in the canyons and sierras inland from the beach providing several options for you to choose from. Be sure to bring your camera as you’ll surely want to take pictures on these adventures! Las Canoas Hike (1/2 Day) They will drive up a canyon just north of La Ventana, park the car and begin a moderately easy hike. This is beautiful country! You’ll most likely see gray fox, lizards, iguanas, multiple birds, interesting rock formations, wild flowers, various trees and cacti. The higher you go the more vegetation you’ll see. Also, a lovely stream runs through this area, depending on how much it has rained during the rainy season. Price: $25 per person (minimum of 4 people). You will leave La Ventana at 9:00 a.m. and return at approximately 1:00 p.m. Please bring 2 bottles of water. Los Pescaditos Hike (1 Day) This hike begins at the same place as the Las Canoas Hike. Only today, you will be hiking at a moderately strenuous rate and going much further. In addition to the scenery, local wildlife, plants, birds and flowers seen on the Las Canoas Hike, we’ll also see petroglphys, an old mine, and different plants and trees. Price: $45 per person (minimum of 4 people). Lunch is included. We will leave La Ventana at 8:00 a.m. and return at approximately 6:00 p.m. Please bring 2 bottles of water. We will furnish additional water. El Pinol Hike (3 Day Hike) This hike includes spending two nights in the sierras, so bring your sleeping bag and a small tent. Again, they will drive north and start in the same arroyo as the other two hikes. We will continue hiking until we reach the highest peak of the Sierras behind La Ventana. This hike is advanced, so please make sure you are physically fit.. Of course, we’ll encounter the same fantastic scenery, wildlife, flowers, and trees as the other hikes. But on this hike, we’ll also see deer, coyote, wild pigs, fossils, more varieties of trees and cacti, and enjoy the spectacular panorama of La Ventana Bay, Cerralvo Island and the valley. The plant aroma and vista make this hike one you won’t want to miss! Price: $180 per person (minimum of 4 people). Lunch is included each day; dinner is included on Day 1 and 2, breakfast is included on Day 2 and 3. We will leave La Ventana at 8:00 a.m. the first day and return the third day at approximately 6:00 p.m Please bring 6 bottles of water, a sleeping bag, and a small tent. We will furnish additional water.
